The "Animental Tour 2004" consisted of two parts ; Animental the performance and Oriental the band.
Animental is a tale that takes place in a magical forest. It is a dream where animal purity and instinct meets the immorality and corruption of man. It is both an old-timey story and future myth told through a multimedia performance.
Oriental, the band, formed when recording the sound for the performance piece.
We are a band whose genes (all 3 of ours) put together are only half Oriental.
The Players
Barbara Schauwecker - Guitar -(only half Oriental) lives in Brooklyn, NY and makes, cuts, sews, builds art and art wearables full time. Her mission is to clothe the world in creativity.
Chiara Giovando - Vocals & Keyboard - (totally not Oriental) lives in Philadelphia, PA and besides creating music and arty stuff , has taken on the task of renovating an old hardware store into a live, work, and performance space not just for her, but for others.
Hanna Fushihara - Drums - (full fledged Oriental) lives in New York, NY and curates art shows and tries to give birth to a new baby of art (of varying disciplines) every day.
